Der Wels (Silurus glanis) wurde 1974 in den Mequinenza Stausee eingeführt. Seitdem gelten Mar de Aragón und der Ribarroja Stausee als Paradiese für begeisterte Welsfischer. Die gefangenen Exemplare sind über 100 kg schwer und mehr als 2,5 Meter lang.
